Endress+Hauser Levelflex FMP55: SensorFusion for Reliable Interface and Level Measurement

Two measuring principles in one instrument
The Endress+Hauser Levelflex FMP55 combines guided wave radar and capacitance through SensorFusion. It is designed for demanding liquid/liquid interface applications, including processes with emulsion layers, and can provide interface and overall level signals simultaneously.
In separators, settlers and process vessels, an interface can become difficult to track when the upper and lower products change or an emulsion zone develops. The FMP55 uses complementary measurement information to increase confidence in the measured value, making it especially relevant to oil and gas, chemical and petrochemical plants.
Why the FMP55 Is Different
Guided radar and capacitance are combined in one multiparameter device for more robust interface measurement.
The instrument measures the liquid/liquid interface and overall level at the same time.
It is engineered for applications with emulsion layers, moving surfaces, foam and changing media.
How SensorFusion Supports Interface Measurement
Guided radar pulses travel along the probe and reflect at changes in dielectric properties. The capacitance principle adds another measurement variable along the probe. By combining both signals, the FMP55 can maintain reliable measured-value acquisition in interface applications where a single principle may be challenged by a broad emulsion layer or varying products.
