E+H FMR60B 80 GHz Radar Level Sensor for Liquid Applications
When a liquid-level project becomes difficult, the problem is rarely the radar principle alone. Nozzles, internal fittings, foam, condensation, communication architecture and safety requirements all influence whether an instrument performs well after installation. The E+H Micropilot FMR60B brings 80 GHz beam focusing, guided commissioning and diagnostics into one practical platform for continuous non-contact level measurement.

Why FMR60B Fits Modern Liquid-Level Projects
The Micropilot FMR60B is designed for continuous, non-contact measurement of liquids, pastes and sludges. Its approximately 80 GHz operating frequency produces strong beam focusing, valuable in vessels with agitators, heating coils, ladders or other internals. Non-contact measurement can also reduce maintenance exposure where coating, corrosion or mechanical wear would challenge a contacting technology.

Application Engineer’s Selection Checklist
Define the medium. Confirm dielectric properties, temperature, pressure, vapor, foam, condensation and buildup. Low-dielectric media and very low levels may require extra attention to usable range and the zero point.
Check nozzle and vessel geometry. Record nozzle diameter and height, mounting position, tank internals and wall clearance. A focused radar still needs a clear measuring path.
Match the communication architecture. Confirm HART, PROFIBUS PA or Ethernet-APL, along with power supply, cable entry, display, Bluetooth access policy and control-system compatibility.
Treat approvals as engineered requirements. Hazardous-area certification, SIL, overfill protection, marine approval, material certificates and factory calibration options must be agreed before ordering.
