Its approximately 80 GHz operating frequency produces strong beam focusing, valuable in vessels with agitators, heating coils, ladders or other internals. Define the medium. Confirm dielectric properties, temperature, pressure, vapor, foam, condensation and buildup. Low-dielectric media and very low levels may require extra attention to usable range and the zero point.

Check nozzle and vessel geometry. Record nozzle diameter and height, mounting position, tank internals and wall clearance. A focused radar still needs a clear measuring path.

Match the communication architecture. Confirm HART, PROFIBUS PA or Ethernet-APL, along with power supply, cable entry, display, Bluetooth access policy and control-system compatibility.

Treat approvals as engineered requirements. Hazardous-area certification, SIL, overfill protection, marine approval, material certificates and factory calibration options must be agreed before ordering.
